Other Information : This is on a minor road two and a half miles north-east of Portaferry in the townland of Ballygalget and parish of Ballyphilip The church was built in 1784 to replace an earlier thatched building of 1760 built where the Parochial House now stands It was enlarged in 1835 and rebuilt in 1878 The baptismal register dates from 1828 and the marriage register from 1852 There is no old burial register but the oldest stone in the graveyard dates from 1839. "The graveyard is all round the church and well kept, with stones of all periods mixed together In the porch are two memorial tablets high on the west wall, transcribed in O'Laverty, 1, 420 The texts are as follows:- (1) ""IHS This chapel, dedicated to St Patrick, superintendent by the genty of Rock Savage, (Present Incumbent Revd Bd Magarry) was built A D 1784 Arer W Lowd(an)"" (2) ""This aisle erected AD 1835, Rev John Maguire, PP"". Over the door on the outside is ""Rebuilt 1878""."
