Other Information : This is the village of Ballygowan and Parish of Killinchy It is approximately equidistant from Comber, Saintfield and Killinchy which had long-established Presbyterian churches and a new one was built here in 1838 Moneyrea which was nearer was by then Non-Subscribing or Unitarian On the gable of the church facing the road is the inscription "Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1838, Rev J Gamble, Minister" The oldest stone dates from 1839 and all stones with dates of death prior to 1865 have been copied The baptismal register dates from 1860 but other registers are modern For further information see "An Historical Sketch of Ballygowan Presbyterian Church during the first Century of its Existence, 1838-1938" Anonymous Belfast 1938.
