Other Information : This is in the townland of Ardtanagh and parish of Dromara, 2 miles west of the town on the Banbridge road A congregation of Dromara was "erected" in 1713 but the first church was not built until after 1717 The present church has the following inscription over the door: "Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy Erected by subscription AD 1826 William Craig, Pastor" Beside it is a stone dated "1735" The oldest gravestone dates from 1769 and all stones with dates of death prior to 1900 have been copied The graveyard slopes down from the north front of the church and has a fine view over the upper Lagan valley The old stones are widely scattered and often partly buried Some walled enclosures are situated at the top of the hill beside the church but these are particularly wild and overgrown The older enclosures belong to Doake and Gilmer families but there are two to Alexander and Blackwood families without ancient inscriptions.
