Other Information : This is on Gilnahirk Road running south-east from King's Road, Knock It is in the parish of Knockbreda and townland of Gilnahirk The first Minister of the congregation Rev Francia Pringle, was ordained in 1772 in association with the Antiburgher Synod (one of the Secession groups) The church has a tablet over the front door with the inscription:-"Presbyterian Church erected 1787, Revd F Pringle, Minister Rebuilt 1845, Rev John Coulter DD Minister Renovated and tower built 1910 Rev DS Ker Coulter BA Minister" The baptismal records date from 1797 and the marriage register from 1828 The whole area was, of course, completely rural until recently and the church was on a steep country road The graveyard is still steep and rough with the oldest stone dating from 1833 Many stones are of soft sandstone and are barely readable Others have fallen forward and it has not been possible to see the front surface All stones with dates of death before 1900 which could be read have been copied.
