Other Information : This is in Plantation Street at the foot of Castle Lane, in the townland of Corporation, town of Killyleagh The first Presbyterian ministers in the district who came over after the Plantation, preached in the old parish church and in the 1640 parish church The earliest Presb ' yterian church was built on the present site about 1670 and was replaced by the usual T-shaped church about the beginning of the eighteenth century It was, in turn, pulled down in 1826 to make way for the present classical edifice The old baptismal and marriage registers survive from 1692/3 The history of the congregation is fully recorded in the Rev Andrew McCreery's 'The Presbyterian Ministers of Killyleagh", Belfast, 1875 The graveyard is extensive, with a few eighteenth century stones scattered on all sides of the church, the oldest dating from 1754 The area near the gate was levelled during the 1960's and some stones moved to the graveyard wall, but the other parts are wild and uneven Killyleagh Second Presbyterian Church acquired its first minister in 1840 and its baptismal register dates from that year There is no graveyard and the marriage register is modern.
